Access rules allow you to offer a tailored buying experience to each of your retailers. Control exactly who can see and order which products or variants. Offer unique colorways to your premium accounts, reserve references to a specific geographic area, or differentiate your offering by distribution network.

⚠️ Prerequisite: Before creating access rules, you must have set up customer segments. Read this article.

Setting up an access rules

1. Go to Collections > Access rules
    
2. Click on Create an access rule
    
3. Select the relevant collection or the sales catalog 
    
4. Select the product
    

5. Define the rule at the variant level:
    

   Allow Only the selected segment will be able to see this variant. It will be hidden from all other retailers.

   Deny The selected segment will not be able to see this variant. It will remain visible to all other retailers.

    

6. Select the desired segment
    
7. Click on SAVE
    

The rule will now appear in the Access rules page and is effective right away on the selected segment. 
 

Display of exclusives 

In collection pages, products covered by an access rule are grouped under the Exclusives section. An EXCLU badge is displayed on the thumbnail of each affected product.

This section and its badges are visible to all retailers covered by an access rule.
