Avoiding Excel errors in the import file

EAN13s are sometimes recognized by Excel as numbers and therefore converted to something like 3,4567+12. In order to avoid this formatting error, you have to adjust the EAN13 column format in your file. To do this, please go through the following steps:

1. Open your CSV file: the EAN13 column should look like the image below:

2. Select the column and click on the Format dropdown in the tools ribbon: change its value from General to Special, if you can’t find the Special in the listing, you can click on More Number Formats to find it. Your column should now look something like this:
