LE NEW BLACK allows you to create charts based on the columns and informations displayed on your report. This will help you illustrate data the same way you can create charts on Excel. Furthermore, you will be able to download the chart as an image (PNG format) to use it on external documents.
You have two ways of creating a chart, either in the Generate chart tab or directly from the Set data tab (Grid view) by selecting specific cells and columns. If you wish to save a chart linked to your report and be able to share it, you must create it from the Generate chart tab only.
Creating a chart from the Generate chart tab
To do so follow the steps below:
-
Create a new report or enter an existing report
- Click on Generate a chart tab
- Select the chart type from the drop down menu
- Select a category (column) for the X-axis and values for the Y-axis
- Check the box "Show values" if you want to display those values on the chart directly
- Save the chart by going on the Save report tab and click on Save
Creating a chart from the Set data tab
To do so, follow the steps below:
- Select the rows/lines of the columns you wish to display in you chart the same way you would do it in Excel
- Right click from your mouse on a selected cell
- Select Chart Range then the chart type, eg. Bar > Grouped (see image below)
💡 Tip : Click on "-" at the top right of the chart to display in the whole report. You can also use the Full screen button at the top right of the page next to Download button to display the chart on the whole page
- Modify the chart by clicking on the 3 dots > Edit Chart if needed
- Download the chart by clicking on the 3 dots > Download chart
⚠️ Important note: this chart is generated on the fly on your custom report, you cannot saved it on your report. To be able to save a chart linked to a report and share it, you must create the chart from the Generate a chart tab (read the guide here).
