In order to smoothen the order workflow, it may be convenient to automatically confirm orders, for example when these are reorders placed on your available stock. This article explains how to set up immediate order confirmation and understand how it works.
Set up immediate order confirmation
Immediate confirmation is defined at the collection level: this lets you decide to activate it for some collections and not for others. If your display mode is based on "collections":
- Head to Collections / Collections
- Select your collection
- In the Order settings block, set Enable immediates to Yes (the field only appears if Order mode is set to In-stock)
If your display mode is based on "sales catalogs":
- Head to Collections / Sales catalogs
- Select your sales catalog
- In the Order settings block, set Enable immediates to Yes (the field only appears if Order mode is set to In-stock)
Understand how immediate confirmation works
This setting only affects orders placed by your buyers in your showroom. Depending on your order split setting, the immediate confirmation may not be activated in some rare cases. To understand this, let's review the different situations.
Order split is set to "split by collection"
When the buyer places their order, a single order will be created for each collection in their basket. Every order created will inherit the order mode of the related collection (pre-order or in-stock).
-> if Order mode is in-stock and Enable immediates is set to Yes, the order created will automatically be confirmed.
Order split is set to "split by order mode"
When the buyer places their order, a single order will be created for each order mode in their basket. To define which order are present in the basket, we first list collections in the basket and group them by order mode (pre-order or in-stock). If in-stock order mode is found, we then list the inventory types present in the basket (immediate or incoming). This can eventually lead to 3 groups, meaning the basket can be split to up to 3 orders: pre-order, in-stock (immediate), in-stock (incoming).
For in-stock orders, we then check whether collections related to the order are set to enable immediates.
-> if Enable immediates is set to Yes in all collections related to the order, the order created will automatically be confirmed.
If your display mode is based on "sales catalogs", all the above also applies and is based on your sales catalogs settings instead of your collections settings.
